Hi,
Is anyone able and willingly to help me with some information about Kitesurfing in Sydney?
After Easter I will be visting Sydney for the first time for 10days. I am unsure whether it is worth bringing my kitesurfing gear with me? Are you getting any kitesurfing in over there with the weather patterns you have been experiencing?
I am not used to crowds, been kitesurfing for a number of years in open ocean and waves.
Where are the kitesurifng spots in sydney? What wind direction? Who and where are the kitesurfing retailers?
Thanks

i wouldnt bother unless you are super keen.
Kiting season is just about over, and forecast at present doesnt look too promising.
Waves and ocean - head to South to Cronulla or North to Narrabeen.
Flat water and urine - head to botany bay.

I guarantee that if you don't bring your gear, we will get a week of 20+ knots southerly combined with a 6 foot + swell.
Seriously though the seabreeze season is finished. We should still get a few good southerlys every fortnight or so, but if your only here for 10 days it is probably not worth bringing your gear.
RE locations head to long reef of wanda.

I would email Kitepower (google) and see if they can rent some gear. There may be some schools around that may do the same if you call them. But chances of wind is getting slimmer....

Hi,
Thanks to all for the information. It sounds like hiring gear is the best option if Sydney gets some suitable wind.

Hey Guys,
I'm visiting Canberra and wasn't too keen on checking the statistics before hand.
However, it seems I will get lucky for a day, and was wondering if anyone could recommend spots for wave action somewhere in the coast which is are the coastline between Bateman's bay-Wollongong-Sydney area (or better yet! - would like to meet up and kite together).
Thanks,
Opher
