Hello everyone,

I just moved to Manly all the way from Sweden. If there are any kiters that live around my area please drop a line because i have no idea where to kite around here.

Take care and see you on the water!!!
Peace

Hi Mate,

Welcome to Australia! You are just in time for the start of the season. Have a look at the NSW Association website. www.nswkba.com.au the maps PDFs show the sydney spots.
http://nswkba.com.au/images/stories/Maps/northern_beaches_complete.pdf
nswkba.com.au/images/stories/Maps/botany_bay.pdf

As you probably saw at Manly over the weekend it gets very crowded and kiting there is not recommended. Long Reef/Narrabeen isn't far away if you want waves, and Botany Bay is good for flat water.

Cheers
Gavin

Hi Rimsson,

In a NE wind you may see people kiting in Manly. However its not recommended unless you are an expert , and definatly not when the beach is busy.
You are not allowed to kite there when the lifeguard flags are up.

you can catch a bus (or drive) up from Manly to Long Reef (just past Dee why) when there is a Southerly blowing wind,
And for a NE wind - you go a little futher to Narrabeen.
(all of these beaches have waves)

If you want flat water - as the kiwi says - Botany bay is the place to go.
Head for Dolls point.
However its very difficult to get there if you do not have a car. (but is possible by bus)...

Fastest way other than driving to Dolls is to catch Ferry and then the Cronulla Train line (blue) south and get of at the Main Sans Sousi Train stop there's a bus from there that goes to the 16' Skiff Club and then it's a short walk. There is usually a bunch of NB'ers that go south on the weekend so it's possible to get lifts if you can orginize it.

The bus to Narrabeen takes 35 min or so depending on the day, you want the 155 or the 156.

Sweet guys, thank your for all the answers n tips.
Went up to Long Reef just yesterday and I was fine on my 10 for a little while until the wind went home...spoke to some dudes on the beach and they told me pretty much same stuff, so sweet lets just hope for some wind.

I also wanna ask if any of you happen to have a new or used cabrinha Sb3 bar, i was stressing to pack my **** before i left Sweden and forgot my bar at home:(
using a friends for now but am willing to buy 1 if anyone's got a spare...

Anyone living in Manly with space in their kitemobile and wanna share the gasolina cash then im definatly in just drop your nr. here for next time.

Thanks again, and see you all on the water!!!
Peace, love n rocknroll!

There's a reason only locals get stickers.......
