He everyone, I have a question.
I will most likely be going to Zanzibar and Tanzania soon to go diving and snorkeling and to do a safari in Tanzania. I recently also found out that Zanzibar is an awesome spot for kiting. The only thing is I heard that the best season for the safari in Tanzania is around October-Novemberish. But the best season for kiting in Zanzibar is June-Sept and Jan-Feb.

Does anyone know anything about the weather/wind in Zanzibar in October-November?

I would like to change my date for the Safari but we are also doing a long backpacking trip after this trip through South America and we want to be there for Dec-Jan-Feb

Anyone been to Zanzibar? If so any tips? Where to stay, where to kite, when to kite, where and when to dive?

Hey Mate

The kiting can be touch and go. I went in Dec and had no wind! If you want to kite you need to go to paje beach. There are lots of little places to stay around there. Either way its a great spot to check out. If there is no wind Stay a Kendwe Rocks. Awesome spot. Its on the inside of the island so not good for kiting. Lots of other things to do.

Cheers

Andy

I lived there 4 a year, I wouldn't expect much at that time of year and its most likely not gonna blow anything worth the while.
Massive tides there though and when it's on its great.Just very hard to predict the weather there.
But on another note it has some of the best diving there in the world with amazing sea life and epic dives. If I was too go again the high would be the diving over the kite any day.
Sorry can't answer all your questions as don't have time, but here's to say you'll enjoy it.Best place for back packer mentality i.e party atmosphere is Nungwi Beach area out from stone town at the other end of the island.
Enjoy.

I went there on a simmular trip in 2007. Didn't do any kiting there was no wind but great reef fishing charters are cheap and stayed in the north western side of the island in a tiny village. They have a full moon party on the beach every month it rocks out they know how to have a good time

But personally i'd line up the saffari in tanzania with the great migration and just hope for wind at the same time. It will blow your mind. Take a quality camera with good zoom. Kiting is awesome but the migration is something you might only see once.......
