Moving to Canberra soon, word is it gets windy and apparently theres a big lake there?
Does anyone know if there's a kiting scene?

i kite on the lake sometimes but pretty gusty . best kiting wind probably easterly which comes in late arvo . so you can still work and then kite afterwards . most of my kiting done down coast . trip down takes 2 -3 hrs depending on where you go and what conditions your after . to much travelling but has to be done , its ok if map looks good for few days .

Probably wont get much opportunity for traveling but at least i may be able to get on the lake occasionally.

There's a crew of guys that go land kiting (buggying) on Lake George. Looks like more fun than kiting in Lake Burley Griffin.
My advice, either travel to the coast or take up mountain biking.
