Hey
Im a guy from Denmark, and im going to Fremantle (Perth) in a week.
Im going to stay there for 2 months, and i wanted to bring my kiteequipment, but my question is, if it is possible to kite at this time of the year? And are there anywhere near fremantle where it is possible to kite, and meet other surfers and kiters?

Hi Panz,
you can kite this time of year, but it is winter and the wind is gusty and frontal if there is any. Woodmans Point is the favoured spot near Freo, so if you are keen and have a small kite you will get in the water.

a few kiters go soft in the winter . but you can kite all year if you want, i went out on monday at leighton beach had it all to myself for 2 hours on a 15m ss bit over power but some fun waves to be had with a nw wind went home had lunch than went to the river for 2 more hours of fun on the the surf board and kite . but still no one to play with . there are heeps of places near freo to kite but as for surfing , even a big day in the perth area is small if you have been on the east coast . mostly longboard waves and cold water . if you want to get out alot pack a big and small kite

OKay thank u guys..
I just found out that it will run me about 1200 AUD to get my gear with me to australia, so i think im going to leave it home, i might be lucky to rent something somewhere?
Ive done alot of windsurfing before, and i now got kites so im really at the beginner level..
Cold water is nothing, how cold is the water in freo rn?
Im used to 4-6 dagrees in the winther time here, and about 15 dagrees in the summer time..
Well ill see when we arrive, maybe somebody will teach me a bit kitesurfing?
