was frothing at the forecast last night. What a hoax... Alltime summer wave action..3m swell??? 20-20 SSE???

Got 3rd carpark 1 wave (in a gusty period) and packed up. Wind direction was perfect.....

looks like I made the right choice in doing my washing and cleaning the kitchen.

Tomorrow looks a bit more promising, knock on wood. Better be, or I'm asking for my money back. Fat Pat don't fly in less than 20 knots these days...

I had about one hour of pure bliss kited the island off hilarys this arvo swell was pumping and the wind was at a guess about 22 - 28 knots at about 3.30 it kicked in. the waves and wind were working in my favour, It doesnt happen like that very often out there it was awesome just wish there was someone else out there to see it.
still cant believe it words cant describe it

Here's the problem with this weather: the forecast is designed to discourage people from going out.

This is achieved by nominating the maximum predicted wind speed (and then adding 5-10 knots). On top of this, the current observation depicts average wind speed and 'gust' (maximum wind speed) for a given period.

What we actually want, in today's case, is the minimum observed wind speed, as well as the average and maximum. In terms of the seabreeze graphs, this would resemble a financial 'candlestick' graph. I'm not sure if this information is actually available, but it would be awfully useful.

cheers

you might see some way down on the horizon at Pinnaroo Point, there's often a heap there.

Me I'm going out today too, don't know where yet but I'll just be happy to get out after so much crappy wind (knock on wood -but it looks good).
