Has anyone kited anywhere around this area - there looks as though there is an inlet from pictures we've seen - any info on the area would be great as we are looking at moving over that way

hey,

I spent most of my summer in the very exciting town of ravensthorpe. I kited hopetoun a couple of times...
The inlet would be good in most wind directions. Just west of the groyne is great in an easterly. Only flat water though. There is a reef break which could be good in a straight southerly or SE'ly but from what Ive hear from the locals, there are heaps of sharkies out there so you may want a boat. Besides which, the reef can get very shallow and its about 4-500m out.
Great fishing and abalone all year round (so the locals say).
A bit too cold for me though! Wetties year around

Otherwise, take a trip to esperance! Some of the best kiting locations I have ever seen! And theres nearly always some surf...

Cheers
Dan
