Has anyone kited at alkimos beach? If you go down shore haven drive all the way to the beach there's a car park and has a nice grass area was just wondering if anyone has tried it out?

There's a couple of us who kited it regularly after the park opened last season. I find it has got a sharky / haunted shipwreck vibe going on and the beach is full of super sharp bits of rock so self launching is super risky. I can't ever see it being a popular swimming beach like quinns or yanchep. Plenty of people around but not many people were swimming or on the beach.

The positives are great carpark security, showers with good water pressure in thought out positions and the beach front park design is fantastic. A few times we launched off the lawn but you can't just leave your kite otherwise it slides around. The new cafe isn't far from opening either so it's pretty family friendly spot.

There are better options around depending on wind direction but if you live in shorehaven it's a no brainer.
