Travelling to Singapore and Malaysia in April. Any advice on which beaches are good and where to kite.

I believe that kiting has been banned in Singapore.

Also the season should be no goood, but is late this year so may be ok

... and they'll arrest you for chewing gum... and will shoot on sight for spitting!

Just asked a Singaporean mate of mine - he says that kiting is just starting to take off & that lots of Sinaporeans are interested, but to the best of his knowledge,it's still legit.

From what he tells me it's becoming very popular in Indonesia as well.

hope this helps you some...just don't put your kite in a boogie board cover.

Not sure if it is worth the effort in Singapore as the winds are like 2 - 5 knts. Would need a pretty big kite I gather.

I was there a few months back. I took my gear but never got to take it out of its bag. There's virtually nowhere you can kite, or are welcome to kite. I understand it is not allowed. The guys who do it take a short trip to the mainland (Malaysia) or some of the other resorts close by.

Of course try kitebeaches.com for info ... doubt if there will be much wind, so at least you could check Nazir in Singapore for some good deals on kite gear and he can also tell you about kiting there and malaysia... [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected]
