I'll be visiting some friends in Port Stephen at the end of June. Where are the kitesurfing spots in this area and are there any council restrictions, "do's and don'ts", etc? Thanks in advance for any info.
GOOD ON YOU caveman for respecting local areas..Port Stephens is a huge area if you can be a little more specific i will be more than happy to help you out.. are you staying on the Hawks nest/Tea gardens side of the bay or on the Shoal bay/Nelson bay side .. either side offers some pretty good winter kite spots..
What a life you have caveman, kiting all the time while the misus works, cooks cleans, and keeps herself in shape, just for you! Can you give me some lessons so I can live like you please!
Hey caveman.. I have never kited Tanilba bay but i know you can.. were about 20 minutes up the road from there.. if you like the surf we have a few good beaches. Birubi(Stockton) faces dead south. best winds there are W,S,SE..any more E in it and head to one mile beach.. once the wind gets around to the NW its time to hit the bay.. Bagnalls beach is where we usually go in a NW its a bit gusty close to shore but once you get out about 50 mtrs it cleans right up.. I have heard there is a good spot round at Tanilba in a NW but have never been there ..you wont have any trouble finding a spot.(Tanilba's not that big) anyway you can get in contact with me closer to the time if you like and i can show you the spots..I work nights and have every day off
Milko, I'll take you up on your offer, mate! Yeah, I like to kite in surf as well. Thanks for the info and I'll get in touch with you as the time draws near. Cheers!
