Hey! I'm a tasweigen currently living in sydney but i'm comin down south for easter. wondering if there is anyone out there keen to hook up for a session some time or lend me some advice on the best locations around hobart. i was down last week and kited off howrah beach on a gusty 20kt westerly and wasnt much fun! i'll be staying at opossum bay area so pipeclay lagoon, dorans rd etc may be my best bets? Gotta be some great spots around...even though I know its gusty!

Hey Nads

I was down there from Melbourne over Christmas and expect to be pretty much kiting on your own. You might find someone in the South but not common up north.

Most places I went I was the first kiter they'd seen

Mainly on NW and N coast though

Cna report that Hawley and Turners beach are excellent. Low Head a nightmare(Blow Head) 35 knots plus

Hi Nads,

I kite on the North coast with a small crew mainly at west head and low head most of the year (been away for last 3 months though). There's a bigger crew around hobart that I'm sure would be happy to show you around down south.

Or if you're keen to travel around a bit there are a few of us organising trips to a few different spots around tazzy.

let me know if your keen

Hey Soonee,

Just wondering where you kited on the north coast out of interest. I've been in vico since November otherwise I would have seen ya. What happened at low head?

I'll be heading down there in 2-3 weeks. I won't be kiting unfortunately but I still wouldn't mind catching up with some Hobart crew one day. My cousin down there said he's seen kiters in one of the bays East of the city (sorry, I don't know the area at all yet)

Hey Nads

your right, pipeclay (seabreeze) or dorans (westerly) are the better spots, also try 5 mile beach (the other side of 7 mile) in a northerly, or cremorne beach in a seabreaze if it comes in a bit more easterly.

send me an email if you want to hook up and ride.
