mate you're about 3 months late or 3 early depending on which way you look at it. unfortunately there is FA in the way of decent wind over winter, apart from from the odd cranking south/north-easter in the mornings.
plenty of spots to kite in exmouth gulf when the easterlies blow. its a bit choppy and cold, but better than nothing.
bring a surfboard, good swell over winter
sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

yeah, stamps pretty much got it, wrong end of the year.

when and if you do go, Coral bay has great kiting but calm will be onto you like a rash. Exmouth has the same conditions but no issues with calm.
Coral bay on the other hand is a much nicer place to hang around during summer when the backpackers are around.

shark bay, there was a thread up a couple of weeks back about that area, if you like flat water, tis good ya.

Sandman, hoping you haven't been in the sights of Slappy's guns down in the Bay!!
Couple of points regarding DEC (CALM) down in Quarrel Bay.
The reason the rangers have been on the case with kiters is because crew have been coming up and kiting in Bills Bay. This has resulted in kites being dropped onto commercial boats, breaking gear like sat nav, etc. This is usually newby euro's coming up on their trip of a lifetime and we have to deal with the com ops complaining about kiting.
Yes, you got it, I work for DEC, Coral Bay is part of my part of my patch and I kite, so I want to keep things on an even keel up here.
When I'm down there I head to Paradise Beach, south of Bill's Bay, its flat water unless you want to head out to the reef with waves ( about a k). The rangers will point you towards the ski area which is south of Moncks Head and you need a 4wd to get there.
There is so much coastline to kite and surf up here, don't crowd out the popular spots where the touro's hang, that will just lead to trouble.
I love to kite and surf and if you need to contact me regarding any of this bollocks try 0409107456

If you're looking at Gero now just have a look at the forecast for next week.......

It's all a bit sad, a few fronts coming through but other than that there's nothing. Bite the bullet and put off your holiday for a few more months!
