does anybody know of any good kiting spots that are NOT to hard to access, In Airlie Beach, or anywhere around the whitsundays...

You can kite at Conway beach
but be aware that there is a lot of wildlife - sharks and crocs so stay well away from the river mouth itself

I would advise driving to bowen its good in several directions of wind

I second what brucex said.

Just watch out for baggsy ripping along the beach on his ATB! I hear the Bowen police have been after him for breaking the speed limit.

i am in Bowen and there are several places to kite....Front beach, kings beach rose bay, Queens beach (north end )at the mouth of the don river.

also dingo beach is a regular spot for kiters..Hideaway bay

i will be at Conway beach on saturday ..with a heap of buggy riders after lunch..... the tide will be out a looong way .

Has anyone been kiting on Hamilton Island? I am heading up there at the end of October and was thinking of taking my gear up with me. Thought the wind might be alright, pretty sure the water will be a little warmer than Melbourne!

best season ?? mate it blows all year round!!
but seriously in the winter i spose is best, when the weather is crap down south it is fairly constant wind here..
in the summer we get some rainy days (especially around whitsunday islands ) but also comes with serious winds (35+ knots) asociated with the monsoon season.
