Hi,

Just wondering if anybody has tried to kite at Yarra bay/Frenchmans Bay on a Southerly? The beach does not look to bad for this wind direction.

Cheers

Yes; It gets Ridden mostly in winter in South to WSW winds can be very dangerous with semi submerged obstacles and small onshore beach. Don’t go out to far as there is a shipping lane from the container terminal to the heads. Oh yea and very sharky around bear island.
Nice Sailing Club at Yarra Bay worth becoming a member in winter for the hot showers.

OK spot in a SW'er..., yes all above comments are true...though maybe Woodie's gets 1 or 2 more car break-in's...cut my foot on s--t on the beach, can only hold a couple kiters, finish your session with a steak at the sailing club...nice to warm up after a winter freezing session. The outlook onto the graveyard, makes it a less than picture perfect...well if you get lofted, it may work out for you!
