Yeah I saw him out as well when i was on my way home, bout halfway between the millpoint rd exit and the como jetty. It looked like the kite was almost over the freeway at times, probably wasn't and just the angle but looked pretty damn close.

This sport already has a reputation as being dangerous, dont need to publicly do something stupid where other people get hurt, it will then put a massive spotlight on what we do and the next step would be government regulation.

I was looking along como beach yesterday arvo after kiting at Scarborough.... Why can't we kite there? There's lots of space, too shallow for boats to pass, onshore Arvo winds.. Has anyone done it?

Oh fek - saw that 5 yrs ago going past on the Fwy and turned to colleague to say "Look out on the news for a fatality tonight."

No fatality (amazingly) but the kite did end up accross the freeway grinding peak hour to a halt (and apparently nearly decapitating someone ona bike).

The idiot split town the next day from all reports. Lucky for him.[}:)]

A class A stoopid thing to do. Truly idiotic.

Dood-doodette needs to be wised up real quick.

Time to call the local ranger and let them know this is a rogue and not a typical kiter.

Fine the idiots @rse BIGTIME!
