Hi there,
I will leave Germany in about 2 Months and I will be travelling up the Westcoast and want to go Kiting there.
I've got time ... so no rush. Therefore can you recommend me nice spots, which are not too overcrowded and are appropriate for me as advanced beginner.
I am also looking for a good kiteschool on my way up where I possibly can make kitecourses! Any tips are welcomed :-)

What kind of wetsuits will I be needing (do I need any)? Here in Germany right now we wear thick Wetsuits with stuff under it, shoes, gloves and a mask! 6 Degrees Celsius Watertemp. and 8 Degrees Celsius Air!!!

Thakns in advance and
greetings from Germany,
Nikolaus

contact a couple of guys named "Wil" and "Ades"
they like ze germans.

id recommend before you go out anywhere talk to locals and see what is the go around here.
Plenty of blow ins of late have been disrespecting with acts such as walking up beach access paths with kites still in the air and kiting through swimmers etc...
just be careful mate before you go out.
oh and prey for wind...

You are coming at the beginning of Winter...start all the way up North and work your way down.

Who is Wil and Ades? Couldn't find the Nicknames via the search!
Sorry, but what are "blow ins"? Here we have the same problems: People kiting through swimmzones and Nature protected areas, misbehaving on beaches and so on. Some fools are out there!

I know, that I am arriving in Winter ... I'll stay around 12 Months in OZ and make my way up the Coast slowly. I am planning to start kiting around Perth somewehere.
Till I get there I am looking for some work maybe on a remote farm or something. If you know by any chance a place, where I can experience real farmlife and nature for some time ... tell me :-)

Thanks,
Nikolaus

Hey Nik,

Greuzi is right, you better start up north and work your way down, there is no nice kiting in Perth in 2 months time for beginners. You should start in Exmouth and come down through Coral Bay, Shark Bay, avoid Gnaraloo (experts only location). Then visit Carnarvon and make your way down to Geraldton via Port Gregory.

Up north you will not need a wetsuit and you will need small kites. There are no kite schools up north. There is a couple of IKO instructors in Carnarvon that work part time, and one in Geraldton, thats about it though. It's all pretty remote up that way so you best be able to handle yourself reasonably well.

Like CAUTION says, contact the locals and find out the local dangers and do's and don'ts. It can be treacherous country to the uninformed.

Good luck and be good,
