I am planning a trip to the carribean next year, looking at 8 - 9 weeks, traveling through Brazil, Columbia, Cuba, Jamaica, Venezuela and Dom Repub. Can anyone tell me the best time of year and the spots to attend in all of these areas or some better links please please please!

Hi there...if you're looking for perfect kiting and no crowds, you may want to check out Cozumel...its in the Carribean just off Mexico and is awesome...choice of super flat water, open ocean or great waves, all with super clear water, cheap beers and good accom options...also easy to get to from Cancun. Good from December through May. Have a look at kitecozumel.com ... the guy who runs the company is called Raoul and will do an awesome job at showing you everything you need. Just be aware of a couple of things - some of the best places require jet ski access so you can't do it on your own...also you rely on frontal systems rather than trades - I got about 10 days out of 14, but you can be unlucky.
Another great place in the Carribean is Martinique...flat water but warm, shallow and super consistant...check out windguru for stats. Best December - Feb...then lighter winds till June. From here its easy to get to St Martin, which has a couple of awesome spots. In May I got about 12 days out of 14...which is pretty good as far as I'm concerned...only warning here is that tends to be a 16m place - blows very reliably but often not that strong.
Personally I rated these places very highly after some trips to more crowded spots...nothing like kiting perfect conditions with just a handful of people out.
Good luck !
