Hi there, has anyone tried kiting with a windsurfer board under their feet? i thought it would be worth a laugh but havent gotten round to trying it. the footstrap settings are likely to be all wrong.
i have seen 3 guys on a hobie cat, one strapped to the cross bar and flying a kite: they made good headway.
has anyone tried waterskiis? thats another one i thought would be funny.
i have sat on a surf board and 'goatboated' across the water, which was a giggle, until my feet slipped off and i rode it bareback and it crunched my jack-crackers.

anything else been tried?

I tried an outrigger with 3 other crew after seeing videos like this one coming out of Maui

The first attempt was a bit lame, but on the second attempt we were flying along. Problems included the outrigger outrunning the kite, then the kite flinging me out of the boat as the outrigger slowed down and the kite powered up again! (We were using a C kite, Bows hadn't been invented yet)

kiting on a 11 foot SUP board is great fun, best light wind solution out there...

I tried on my 9ft 3inch custom slalom sailboard, but the rails are two sharp and wanted to round up all the time. I had better luck on my mini-mal surfboard, and actually got planing in 6kts of wind! SUP's appear the best if you check out this video taken down on the lake at Milang.

Seriously you can kite on pretty much anything.

SUPs are definitely good light wind fun. Good for tandem and handplants.

McDonalds trays are somewhat doable. They are way to flexy and break a bit easy though.

Also have kited on the hard bit of a palm frond. Could get fully plaining if you get a stiff enough one. The one I found was shaped a bit like a boat.

Its also good fun towing people. Not exactly strange craft but its good fun Doing kite loops turns out pretty sick.

The possibilities are endless.

We had a door wash up on the beach once. Provided hours of fun and amusement.
