After a search here on Seabreeze and on the local Kite websites (In The Loop and Tevenie) I haven't found any relevant info..

Can anyone share their wisdom -first hand or otherwise- on kitting at the mouth of the Ross River?

There's obviously an increase in boat traffic, croc's, sharks and stingers (in season), but despite those little obstacles - where's the best place to launch from? Any local Council restrictions? etc....

Thanks in advance.

Hi mate,

we have kited the river mouth before. It usually works quite well on NE winds.
As u have stated below, there is a lot going on!
If the wind dies you will be stuck in the channel or drift into the mangroves (both is scary) had to rescue kiters there beofre.

If you get to the other side of the sandbank it can be quite nice out there with kickers and little waves running Perpendicular to the wind.

Inside of the sandbank u will find some nice flat water, again stay out of the channel!

I am assuming that the Council is not to happy to see people kiting in there!

cheers
