i have a friend who is going to Ko samui next week... she weighs just under 70kgs(69) (funny)... does anyone have any advice on the location and what size kites should she take. i think she has lined up some extra lessons with the local schools.any feed back would be great!!

Just called the boys at www.kiteboardingasia.com ... they are just right now on their way back from Hua Hin ... they will start up their school again at their location in the south (just head for the Samui Aquarium on the way to the Samui Central Butterfly garden) - there is accom right there if your friend needs it ... they've got heaps of new & used gear avbl ... (but renting, like everywhere i think is expensive)

We've got the Samui Yacht reggatta happening this week ... steady south wind today (not more than 10kts though) ...

She needs to bring the biggest kites she has ... it's sort of in between seasons actually ... winds only patchy this time of year and lucky to go over 15~20knots... 5~10knots is the norm ...
