I've had a naish one for about 8 months. I would not recommend it as it always struggles to get to full pressure especially for the struts. I have tried different charges, new batteries etc. Several mates have had the same problem. Also, they give you a pissy cigarette lighter charger which is a total waiste of time. In my opinion the only kites that it might get enough pressure for are a few of the one pumps. If anyone knows of a kickass electric pump, please let us know.

I've got a penis pump...It's quite good, It gets my strut nice and full.
I have not adapted an electrical unit to it yet but I think that may be a bit dangerous....hey there's another one for jackass 3!!

Imagine the bang at the end of that scene...ouch ...now that's a blood blister!

Tone out!

Hey Booman!!

i have a Sligshot electric pump, Its a two stage pump, first it starts with a fan which stops at about 2 psi then a piston kicks in to put the rest of the pressure into the kite via a nice little dial pressure adjustment, of which stops pumping when the desired pressure is reached.

Ive been called a lazy bastard more times than i care to remember, but hey

1, i am a lazy bastard

2, it gives me more time to suck down a ciggy and a VB before my session

and 3, i was given the electric pump because my local kite shop respects me as a good return customer. Thanks Jason :)

I have an electric pump too, it is a naish, and I found out too that it struggles to get the full pressure. So what?
I am using the manual pump to inflate the struts, whilst the electric one is pumping the guts of the leading edge.
When I finish the struts, the leading edge is almost there, so 10-12 extra manual pumps in the leading edge and I am ready to go in about 5 minutes.
The fact that I do not push the pump to maximum pressure, helps with the life of the pump (alredy the second year, and the only think it is falling apart is the bag the pump seats in).
So, as you can see, I am only "half lazy bastard"

I got a 5 in 1 from Kmart. Will pump your kite to 260psi..boom!!!!!!

You've got to watch it but it's got heaps of grunt and recharges on power or ciggie lighter. Will jump start your car help you find your keys in the dark and power a ghetto blaster fro a few hours of fun on the beach.

Has a tire coupling and includes an adapter which works ok on a kite. Takes about 10 mins for a 10m kite leading edge and you can manual the struts while you wait(or get one pump kite). Pressure guage on it but not pressure relief valve so you need to watch it.

Price $60 bucks and has a grunty battery for you and your mates.
Will also pump up your car tire too

Works for me at that price

using a hand pump gives you a bit of a warm up, and time to access wind. really cant see the point in an electric.

I've had the Naish Pump and I now use the Slingshot pump. Get the Slingshot Pump. Dont waste your money on other gimmicks. Those other pumps like the Kmart ones will work but they defeat the whole purpose of an electrical pump. Electric kite pumps are fast but the other pumps from kmart take way too long to pump a whole kite up. It would take you about 25 mins to pump up at 14m kite.

How many kites can the slingy pump before it needs recharging? What's the recharging time like? Anyone know who stocks them in Sydney and approx.price?

In Sydney just talk to Slingshot Australia.

I have the Slingy pump and got a 12m Rebel it pumps it up at least 8 times.

I charge it overnight on a adaptor in my garage. I keep it on a timer for 12 hours. I just have a habit of making sure the battery is flat before i charge it up.

my naish hasn't let me down. it's a gem.
slingy's good too.
keep em properly charged at home with a 240 charger from dick smith or nerdsville electronics and you will praise allah.

why they don't supply them in the first place is beyond me.

I got the Bravo BST electic pump. The thing is fricking awsome. You can set it to stop at whatever psi you want. While it pumps up my kite I set my lines up and all set to go. Just got to be careful about not pumping more than like 1 large or 2 small kites at once cause of the heat. Also dont bump during the low pressure phase as a piece in there burns up easy. Comes with a car charger. I wanted a wall one so got a 13.5/30v 1000ma one from Radio Shack with the adapter marked L. Works great. Totally the way to go. I've hurt my back enough over the years, I dont like how it feels after pumping up my kite. This thing has been well worth the cash.

I'm in Panama City, Florida. I get my Bravo pump for a good deal from the local shop. Retail is like 190 but you can get it a lil cheaper I bet. Their address is www.pcbkitesurf.com I haven't tried any other hp/lp pumps but a number of the guys around here own this one and we all swear by it.

Don't kid yourself. Pumping is not a warmup for kiting. I havn't seen to many kite moves that require a crouched over bent back position with pumping arms.

You are better off letting your pump look after your kite and do some decent stretches instead.
