Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to get LF comp Strap to stay in one position and how to get rid of 'cankles'...

The comp straps had em for a few seasons now and the adjusting - tightening screw has rusted in place (or the treads have rusted out) thus not providing any bite so when some pressure is applied they come loose... extremely frustrating.

I did try some adhesives this worked well for a few sessions but after some tough landings it has given way and am back to square one...

May try drilling the two plastic bits and getting some wire in there or something?

Anyhow if anyone else has some creative ideas...

Also for the sake of making two threads.... cankles... How do you stop getting em with a full body wetty? I have a ripcurl E-bomb full body (2/3) which is great! Warm as! but I keep getting water at my ankles giving me cankles and it pisses me off... any tips on how to manage this apart from cutting the wetty short? Drain holes? New wetty?

can't help with the foot hook problem, but some duct tape around your ankles will fix the wettie cankles. or you can use a couple of legrope cuffs.

just remember to undo the tape/cuffs before you try to take off the steamer...

I'm thinking it could be because it's retaining water? i..e gets in when I water start and then doesn't have a way of getting out? As it's a pretty tight seal around the ankle could walk around with water packed in there all day

Nah it's from the spray off the board ramming up under the bottom of the wetsuit leg while you are out kiting. Once in there it doesn't drain out very well. If you stop it from getting in under pressure there is nothing to drain out (except pee).

Try stamps idea of duct tape for a session before you splurge $5 on padded Velcro straps.
