u can ask someone to grab ur kite or fly ur kite to edge of wwd, then softly put the leading edge on the sand together with pulling ur safty system on chick loop. Then secure ur kite

Here's what I do, use it, don't use it:

Best option: have someone catch it

Other option:
I make sure I bring it down to my left as the anchored line is on the right wingtip for when I let go the chickenloop. I then fly it down to about 4/5m off the ground. I let it fall back into the window then swoop it down to almost on the ground. This way it's going forward and out of the window a bit when I steer hard onto the ground, then I let go the chickenloop.

Other option:
Do the above without letting go the chickenloop. This is harder and way more dangerous. I nearly bought the farm doing this one day, and still have the scars to prove it. It means the lines are less likely to tangle and less of a mission to roll up. It also means it doesn't matter which side you bring it down on. I only do it: a) behind a dune where there's a dead spot. b) behind my ute if I've parked on the beach, also a dead spot. c) into the water. d) in consistent wind - not gusty. These methods should only be used with plenty of room downwind if things go pear shaped. Also sometimes it's better to land on the water and have to dry your kite than land on something sharp and have to patch your kite.

Hope this helps.

...and I'm spent

copied from a previous thread about 12 months ago. see article at the following link http://www.ikiteboarding.com/article_detail.aspx?id=87

i use this technique and have had it work absolutely perfectly many times. just wish I could get it right every time. in strong winds (>20knts) best to get a helping hand or dump the kite in the water...

Have someone experienced catch it at the edge of the wind window or use your leash/safety system.

If you get someone to catch your kite, be selective.
