Heya Chris,

Wello - Booties are a MUST, and there aren't many jellies. Flat water/ slight chop. Takes all directions. Ask the locals of fines and restictions currently being passed through council.

Brighton - Choppy Jellies everywhere you look. Takes N'ly to S'ly ? Feel free to correct me on this please.

I went to Wello today and had to turn around and go home when I saw the sign saying kitesufing is prohibited???

So there is no kitesurfing allowed whatsoever at wello anymore? I saw people there only 2 months ago.

What's the story?

No way would the 'Wello Crew' (who accepted no help, when dealing with the local council)ever let their favourite spot go under, OR maybe lynita passed on and the rest moved to brighton, mmmm.

Any responses?

Brighton is easily the best spot to learn in your area, and be nice to the locals.

Wello is the same as it always used to be regarding rules and regulations, just ask locals if u go down there and they'll update you. Going through council as we speak etc.

This was a mid Nov random post about where to learn, and brought up again :S

Brighton is the best place to learn anyway as the water is more clean(remembering the algae problem atm at Wello), the wind more accurate, no rocks and random stuff to hurt yourself on, and jellies aren't around as much anymore; and more room @ Brighton.

Brighton is probably the safest to be until you can get fully going and turning around. Just watch the reef on the northern end, and avoid dead high tide when the chops get reflected from the rock wall. Water sadly is dirty as, and so are most spots in Brisbane

Just go to Brighton. Ask a local where the Reef is if you can't see it. Don't be complacent walk out to at least knee depth of water before you start kiting. You dont want to twist ya legs and ankles by running aground.

I dont know what the Jellyfish scene has been like lately as we haven't had any frieken wind but...a rashy helps out.
