Hi All,

Looking for a bit of guidance out there. I got the bug (kitesurfing that is)in Jan this year and so far found it pretty quick to pick up. I can now start to feel the learning curve slow. With this lack of wind ive watched too many dvd's which results in me trying to many advanced things (in my head i think ive nearly nailed the backroll but im sure no one on the beach is impressed with the ungraceful backflop ).

Im wondering what order should I learn the tricks.

So far im up to

Upwind
Riding One handed (sketchy 8v) )
Healside Transition
Small Jumps (zero style/smooth)
Toeside (very sketchy)

Looking forward to the weekend.. if it hits 20-25knts c u out there.. if it hits 25+knts then Ill c u out there through a lens

Dont stress too much your doin ok, concentrate on edgeing and try too 'pop' off the water without the use of the kite. Itl help you lots later..

P.S I forgot make sure you just get out there and enjoy yourself and form some mateship. These are better than any trick!!!

Damn right paulio - so many memories
IMO -Try to learn to do everything bothways, you first will need to learn to ride toeside & heelside bothways. Then learn to jump & transition both ways (its good to keep playin with backrolls while you do this & try a railey)
Learn to do carves & sharpes turns at speed like riding a wave, & learn to keep the power in the kite.
Then learn to spin both ways with jumps & transitions
learn front & back rolls both ways & try some unhooked riding
learn some surface handle passes
Do unhooked raileys & try s-bends
learn uploop kiteloops (put kite at 11 and pull back hard)
learn handle passes in the air
learn spinning foward & backward with uploop kiteloops
try railey downloops (put kite at 11 and pull forward hard)
& s-bend downloops
try slim chance, or front mobes
try whatever spins with handlepasses mobes blah blah
try a fkn frontroll & backroll uploop kiteloop handlepass
Go to the PKRA & win

Ah PsYLoR, you left something important out of your trick list.
And that's...............ripping waves to pieces!

The next one most guys aim for is the 'slim chance to blind'. It's a bit easier to learn if you add a kite loop on take off.

After that maybe try learning to carve a transition from toeside to heelside: swing the kite back low, let go your new backhand, lay back into the turn and try to throw up a wall of spray as you follow the kite round. It's easy, useful, it looks sweet and builds on what you can do already. You'll come out well powered up in your new direction.
