If there is anyone out there who has noone to learn with (such as myself), send me a message! I'm only a beginner who has had a couple of lessons and don't really want to get into trouble without any nearby help. I live near the Scarborough area and would LOVE to get out on the water a little more often.

Dont be afraid to ask for help or for other kiters to keep an eye on you when you go to you favourite spot. I am sure most will be willing to help or at least make sure you are not in trouble.

Most kiters I have come across are fairly generous as we all know what it was like to be a learner.

I also suggest that you while your learning only go out at Scarborough on low wind, low swell days, and suggest south side of Woodies, dog beach at Leighton, Pinaroo or the river to learn.

Hi Sarah, I would recommend not doing any learning at Scarborough at all, it is a bad spot to learn because of the swell and really bad shore break. Also the currents will not help your kiting at all try down on the river at pelican point or at woodmans point both of these spot have flat water which will make it heaps easier to learn. Don't attempt Scarborough untill you can stay upwind very easily also there are alot of people down there. Good luck

Good idea but it could be a case of the 'blind leading the blind' I'm also at the beginner stages but reckon you'll be safer and better off teaming up with someone more experienced

Rock up any day at any spot and fellow kiters are allways up for a chat and some good advice!!

Thanks for all your advice girls and guys! By the sounds of it, I should just pick my days where I feel comfortable with the conditions and get out there

. I have a good feel for the safety issues involved, however keep an eye out for a very uncoordinated kiter.

i sarah monica and i ( luke ) are going down to pinaroo early today for kiting ( saturday ) look out for a 12 m caution kite yellow/black and a 8m north kite we will be up the north end of point boday dragging we will help you launch etc ,pick u up up mullaloo or something 0403 678 645 sms your arrival or just sat high

any other beginners just ask a kiter to help with launch or lines

make certain you have a buddy watching you from the shore.

any beginers meet at north end of carpark to support each other this weekend sat sun mon ...come on down northern kiters......Luke
