Hey guys,
I have been using my 5th line attachment when trying handlepasses. When i drop the bar i am constantly getting tangles in the lines (particulary in the surf). I have seen other guys using sewicide leashes and when they miss passes the kite seems to float to the edge of the window for an easy relauch. When i have tried it my kite seems to head straight for the water in the middle of the window. Is this just unlucky or is there anything i can do? (could it be something to do with my lines?)

I think it is because you are holding onto a side of the bar sending it into a kiteloop, then you let go as it heads straight down. Try putting your handle-passing hand right in the middle of the bar so it doesn't kiteloop when you miss the pass.

Also a tactical release if possible is the way to go, basically if the kite is looping like crazy and you can hold on try and time it so that when you let go it flies straight up or sideways instead of down. I often do this as its quite hard to real it back in kitelooping holding the side of the bar and you don't want to slam your kite too hard. Takes a bit of practice and in the end theres no avoiding all crashes but you definately can avoid some of those high impact smash's.

hey Andy,
i normally put my hand as close to 1 side of the chicken loop as possible. Are you refering to putting the chicken loop between my 2 middle fingers?
