Not really was out thereon Sunday Wind was quite west too when i went out which made it even more challenging.

Banks are not great yet, give it a couple more fronts.

had a look just now and banks are there for sure and wind is shifting almost cross [but dying] after 4 days of strong Northwesters to carve them out. Exceptional to have banks so early in the season so hopefully bodes well for the winter.

Im not to sure about this sort of thing, so please educate me...

So, are the banks are good for surf? Arn't they there all year round? Do the smaller banks get wiped out by the bigger winter swell allowing for better banks to form??

There was a hell of a back wash at scabs on saturday morning, was this becasue the banks are still quite close to the beach?

You want the banks to not be parralel with the shore so the wave peels and doesnt close out... Strong winds shift them to an angle and give longer and better rides.
