What do you recon on liquid force kites? People say they break as easy as a match stick and your kite will spend half its life at the liquid force factory under warrenity... others say they are the best kites around and nothing compares... The 2007 Havic looks sick.

thats exactly wats happened to my m-80, its a really good kite to fly n stuff but it has spent more than half its life wrecked and constantly ordering new bladders etc. i would prouble wouldnt pay money for another one. ( i herd menace hold up better than m-80's)

Some of the M80's had a few construction faults that were fixed by LF... the 07 stuff it much stronger and has a better construction...

The main problem the m80's had, was the struts were 2 pieces of material sewn parallel to the strut.... after a while the stitching on the main inside curve of the central strut started tearing... as soon as theis went past a certain point the rip just went all the way down the strut and took the bladder and most of the strut with it... The struts should of been made like the spectrum 2's and Havocs etc, with about 6-7 panels that form little circles around the bladder all the way down...

If you are new to kiting you cant go wrong with a 2005 Spectrum 2... they are cheap as (brand new for like under $400, a new 12m went for $202 on ebay this week) and decent kites for a newby to learn with...

The new stuff looks insane!!!!

Justin,
I've had 2 spectrum 2's and now an assault and had no problems. 12m spectrum got lots of good use and only 1 bladder issue due to grass needles. Bar, lines etc all fine after 18 months. Both spectrums have had good use and life. Assault is newish, but so far all is good, with a great wind range (12m gets going at same level as my 17m C kite) and easy to fly (I'm only intermediate). Only comment I'd make is that for bows, when they say 100% depower, I think it's more like 70%, which generally is enough. For the $ I reckon they are pretty hard to beat. Note I've had other brands with similar levels of reliability, so it depends a bit on how hard you crash them and how you look after them on the beach and in the bag.
