Hi,
This may sound ridiculous, but it sure is annoying.

The little toe of my front foot keeps getting trapped in the small gap between the foot pad and the strap of my kiteboard. The fit is so snug and it takes considerable effort to wriggle out after hops and jumps i.e the toe gets wedged in...

Has anyone else ever encountered this problem, or is it just me? I was thinking of stuffing something in the gap so that my little toe cannot get trapped. But what, any suggestions/thoughts?

TIA,
Bo

Damn, I thought it might be

Will try to help myself by putting a rolled-up bit of neoprene in the gap and see how I go.

try sticking some foam or neporene in there.

On the plus side, sounds like your straps are nice and sucure so you wont have too much trouble with unintentional board off moves

Shouldn't your toes be sticking out the other side of the starp and all free to wriggle and move?

It must be you.

Yep Ran, definitely get foot cramps when straps are too tight.

Thanks guys. I folded up a small rectangle of old wetsuit material and wedged it in the gap. Tried it out today, riding off Pinnaroo Point, and -YAAY- my toe no longer gets trapped/pushed into the gap on impact after landing in a forward direction.

By the way, the board is an 2005 Addiction Cat 135 (Very nice board btw.) - If the Addiction designer reads this he may be interested in possibly making some corrective alterations to the footpads & straps, if it's not already been done in the newer models.

Cheers,
Bo

Id be a bit worried, coz if your toe's getting stuck wouldnt you be risking breaking it. coz sometimes i twist an ankle coz one foot stays in the board while it flips areound and kills itself. oh wait, hahah i jsut realised this post is pointless since youve fixed the problem.... owell.
see you on the water mofo's

a really dedicated kiter would have simply removed the offending toe... non of this mamby-pamby padding stuff. What is the World coming too?

PS. if the problem comes up again, you can borrow my bolt-cutters.

The Toe-Cutter rides again![}:)]

my foot straps aren't that snug, but they run up against the side of my foot pads so hard theres no way i could fit a toe or anyhting else in there... can you push your strap harder against the pad side maybe ?

I borrowed someone elses board today and experienced this for the first time myself. It was weird. No its not you toe that is the problem mate, its the foot pad. I normally wear booties and never have a problem. I also don't have a problem on my normal board. And you guy's are right, it could break your toe off and that would hurt but be the end of the problem.

Woke up this morning and my little toes infected. It must have upset my toenail yesterday. Dam! I doubt I can kite today and I'm picking up a new Venom this morning. :-(
