Hey!

New member here, moving to Perth to study in november and I'm bringing my gear from Sweden to be able to kitesurf as much as possible. Anyone have any advice on where in perth I should look for an appartment? Preferebly close to a nice kitesurf spot. I've been kitesurfing for 5 years so I can handle all spots and conditions. Looking forward to getting there and hope there are some nice, friendly surfers there.

Peace

Dave

ocean with surf -- scarborough
ocean with gentle big swells -- leighton ( Fremantle) also has better access to flat water at woodmans point
small fun chop at pinaroo -- hillarys
But for a new guy to enjoy Perth Fremantle has it all for you. Beach, night life, cafe s, good trip into the city.
ENJOY

where are you studying could influence your choice of location, however prime places to kite in Perth (theres loads I know!) are Woodmans point..actually anywhere along our coast. Places to live in Cott, no doubt, or Fremantle end Scarbourgh would also be prime location for kiting. Best of luck, we may see each other out or at uni.... ha ha!

ok so maybe I should look for a place in Fremantle. I'm studying at SAE Institute, 3-5 Bennett St, East. Can I take a bus from Fremantle there easily? What's the nightlife like in Perth/Fremantle? Clubs, bars... :)

My accountant is on Bennet St!

You can get a train from Freo to the city easliy. If you were studying at UWA I would have suggested staying near the river close to UWA. That way you would get first choice of the river without travel (no smartassed comments about the river guys )...just make sure that you are near the coast and near the train line and all is good. Freo, Mosman Park, and Cottelsoe all fit the bill there.
