Ok before this thread gets shut down please stick to the Rules
No personal attacks
No quoting PM's
Pease stick to current beach being discussed

I'll start !
A local kite school is in the process of attempting to have Sandgate Qld Beach closed to all other kiters that have not completed an induction/skills sign off with his school. This has been done without any consultation with the local kiters or our Australian governing body.
As nobody has seen a proposal of his plan nobody knows how it will work.
Will it be annual ?
Who will cover the said induction ?
Does that mean the said school will be responsible for all safety at sandgate beach?
Is that school the best to be in charge of our beach ?
Does this mean we will have water sherrifs handing out tickets to un tagged kiters?
Has anyone ever been subjected to such rules ?

richard be proactive,

you and like minded thinkers have to put some effort in, get together and find out whats happening at council etc

play them at thier game just do it better and dont get personel
sounds from the outside looking in that the majority(on here) are not in favour of the changes

is there an actual proposal in council for the changes ??? or is this all just hearsay bs

Are we going to have tags which are the equivalent to belts in martial arts? If so what colour will the Ninjas wear?

You will never know what colour the Ninja is wearing...

Arguments about regulation aside, if it happens it shouldn't form a monopoly. Several beaches already have unenforced requirements for AKSA insurance tags.

Sorry guys and gals, but I can't see how this thread will contribute to a positive outcome to Sandgate Qld Beach.

As we have seen before unless there are facts to present and discuss then these things have a way of descending in to fear mongering and personal attacks pretty quickly.

I would suggest that if you are concerned about the likelihood / mechanics of beach access being restricted to kiters you should contact the group trying to have restrictions put in place and/or your local kiters group and/or your local AKSA representative.

Disclosure: I'm not a local to that beach, don't know if, who or how this is happening, but I know a flame-fest when I see one.
