In my opinion most of the bars that come with kite are too long - it is much nicer using a smaller bar - particularly in the surf.
Most of the riders i know use a smaller bar or cut them down a bit

And often the rider will be gripping the thing at the very ends which looks super kooky.
All bars should be short, not just for image and fashion....
but for safety as well.
