Has anyone found using a longer bar than usual, helps to turn thier kite faster, and respond better. I tired a longer bar on my 2007 shockwave a few days ago, and found it felt alot better. 50mm in bar length seemed to make a fair difference.

Of course it makes a difference! There's a good reason many larger kites (12m+) are released with longer bars than their shorter ones. The longer the bar the more the steering lines are moved.

thats a great idea if you like riding with a broom stick

In my opinion most of the bars that come with kite are too long - it is much nicer using a smaller bar - particularly in the surf.

Most of the riders i know use a smaller bar or cut them down a bit

Right-on Bruce. ^^^
The broom-stick kitebar always cracks me up.
lol.
And often the rider will be gripping the thing at the very ends which looks super kooky.
All bars should be short, not just for image and fashion....
but for safety as well.
Oversteering is the major cause of lofting.
Forget rogue gusts, they're a myth.
Oversteering is the killer move.

What ever happened to the good old '07 Seabreeze response of 'loop it'?
Surely everyone wants a kite that'll loop faster, and the best way of doing that is cranking it harder fishing rod style. A cut down bar is gonna slow down the loop!
Won't somebody please think of the loop!

I cut my bar down to 13 inch (around 34 cms) for all kites you can just fit one hand either side of the chicken loop, and I still would like the kites to turn slower.

Have to agree with SpaceMonnkey -
if you have decent kite it will turn plenty fast enough - even on shart bar

my 11 rev turns nice and quick on a shorter bar - and my 7 rev - i wish it was slower

actually I think I will move the attachment to slow it down -
