Just looking for help to find a good knee brace that I can just go into a shop or chemist etc and buy off the shelf don't want to wait for an online delivery as it's going to be on tomorrow , pulled up a bit sore from a three hour session a couple of weeks ago and thinking that prevention is better than the cure any help much appreciated

just strap it . if you want protection you will need a proper brace . better start doing squats .

Probably nothing better than a properly fitted one by a professional but I have kited all summer using a Shock Doctor 'Ultra Knee Support with bilaterial hinges' model no. 875. $100 from Rebel sport. Been awesome, without it I would have been off the water for sure with a partially damaget medial ligament. Great support, minimal movement restriction, don't notice it after first session and very durable with solid velcro straps. Kept me pain free and on the water. As above, start specific exercises and dump the brace when it feels strong enough.

i have a Drytex Hinged air Donjoy that make me feel all cyborg & supported. The air chambers on the front aid support to the side of your knee most needed. It is for water use, not all braces are.. Works brilliantly with boardies or short leg wetties, have not used it with full length wetties. Goodluck iggypop.

Hi
I have same problem after few hours of choppy conditions.
I found for me a softer board that eats up the chop helped me.
I probably a but older that most of the guys around so I put my
stuffed knees down to old age mostly.
I did at one stage do a google search for knee braces and bought one(found heaps)
oneline which a guy had used for rehab.(ebay I think)
Has alloy side supports with adjustable swing side pivots and has heavy
velcro above and below the knee.
tried it once and found it another hassle to worry about on the beach and in the water.
Do google seach, you will find heaps.
I do agree with exercise and chop eating board though.

Check it here www.shockdoctor.com/products/ultra-knee-support-with-bilateral-hinges

I've got two, one I use with boardies and a larger one to wear over steamer. Can't rate it highly enough. Have tried others but this is the best I've tried for an off the shelf brace.

Above site is US with long delivery. But Rebel should have them.
