Hi,

I am heading to Lord Howe Island for a week at the start of December. Anyone know if December is a good month for kite surfing there?

Best kiting is over winter. August and September when you kite the South Westers in the lagoon.
There is kiting at Neds Beach with Easterlys over summer.
Keep an eye on the forecast before you go.
Make sure you make preparations for taking gear you only have a 15Kg luggage allowance.

Hi,
I live at Lord Howe & am a dedicated kiter. December not the best time of year but we do get the occasional South Wester which is the best wind for the lagoon. Summer winds are predominately SE to NE which brings Neds Beach & Blinky Beach into play. We do often work the lagoon in an Easterly but it is offshore and we do have a boat backup! Please give us a call when you arrive and we will point you in the right direction. Best winds May to November.
Luggage can be a problem so best to be organised. Drop us an email with your dates & will send you info re purchasing excess baggage prior to checkin etc. Hope this helps. Awesome spot!

Damn not the news I was hoping for. What website is most reliable for Lord Howe winds? I'll be there from the 2nd to the 9th of December, but I fly to Sydney on the 29th first so will need to know whether it is worth bringing my gear on the 29th... I've got an 8m and 12m kite but would only be able to bring one with luggage restrictions
