Going by the seabreeze forecast, it aint looking good for Lorne next weekend. Saturday with the westerly will suit Pt henry & 13th beach, Sunday if it goes around as predicted late in the arvo to sw/s then Torquay area, Anglesea or maybe Urqharts. Im tipping you would need an almost due east or nth east for Lorne because of the hills surrounding it. Good luck
True, its a rare wind that would get in there, so why pick that spot?
Its never a good idea to promote kitesurfing in locations that do not suit, Lorne is a particularly bad spot to be promoting kitesurfing as a popular activity.
Assess the location, over the summer months heaps of swimmers along the shoreline, including lots of family groups and kids. Its going to be congested with any more than a few kiters. There are lifesaver flagged areas and these are a no go zone for all surfcraft, kiters included.
If the winds from any direction other than onshore, its going to be gusty, dangerously gusty.
Why not take the same photographers to spots like Torquay, Anglesea, Pt Roadknight, Urquarts, Fairhaven, Pt Henry, where there are plenty of wide open areas and where kiters can kite safely, and in a much wider range of winds that are not directly onshore????
Cya and
Goodwinds
