To any Gold Coast kiters--

I lost my Cabrinha Icon 140 in the Broadwater on Friday afternoon.
Tide was going out, but NE breeze in the opposite direction.

The board is red and white.

If anyone finds it, or hears of anyone who does, or can provide any information leading to the capture of this runaway, I would be the happiest guy in the world...

It's my only board, and I just spent my last savings on a newish kite, so things are looking pretty bleak.
A successful find would earn at least a carton of premiums, or something similar.

Thanks all.

i know what a ****...

ahh well did my back in the gym this week-- wouldnt be kiting for while anyway.

im gonna try make my own from ply, considering theres about $12 to my name and youth allowance doesnt really provide for new boards.

anyone got tips for shaping/bending ply? theres a good topic running on kiteforum at the moment...

also if anyone has old footstraps/pads? or can recommend a good type to pick up somewhere... i would be grateful.

will keep you posted

Unless you plan on making a jig (which will come in handy later on anyway if you want to make more of your own boards), you can soak the ply 10-15mm (after you have cut the board shape out obviously), it's best to get marine ply (as it bends a lot easier and the flex stays) in a bath or some mass of warm water for about 3-5 hours. Put the ends of the board stacked up on bricks or something about 30cm off the ground, and place a weight on the middle of the board (like bricks, concrete etc.-in moderation obviously)- Let it sit like this in the heat of the sun to for either a few hours, or until it has bent to the flex you want it too, and until the marine ply has dried. After it has dried, you can then power sand rails in (depending on how tech. you want to go), and then coat with either polyurethane or a good quality epoxy

With regards to this, Liquid Force sell brand new board ahndles for $15, Flat foot pads for $19, and then scre in then straps for $49. If the screw goes all the way thu to the bottom of the board, before putting the coat on the bottom, file them off with an angle grinder.

Good luck mate

i reckon we should make a trip to the waterski/wakeboard areas on the nerang river at dawn.
bound to find the missing 40 boards being towed behind tinnies by bogans wearing stovepipe black jeans as wetties.
question is what do we do then?
