its impossible to cater for everyone. Its much easier to lose to a guy who is pulling tricks you can actually imagine yourself doing sometime in the future than working up the nerve to enter open class and getting completely destroyed. overseas we had guys who could hardly stay upwind enter novice. doesnt have to be super serious like pro/open just as long as they have fun

If I may have my two bobs worth on the subject.

1. You need wind at comps.

2. Keep to Open format.

3. Everyone gets equal time on water, having 2 areas would help.

4. Agree it is all about fun and that's time on the water.

Ideal comp. for me, good luck sounds like it will be a gas, no wind here

Hey Mitch,

At this stage we are doing heats similar to nationals BUT, numbers at this event are slowly outgrowing that idea so we are considering running 8 people per heat. We have to cram the hole event in 3 days. We dont have a week like Nationals.

theres plenty of room, plenty of judges.

Theres going to be plenty chance for everyone to have a solid go as well as watch their mates and others compete also. Boarder cross is planned to be exciting and quick and involves anyone who can simply get up on a board.

Free ride comps are great, but i believe they lack control and proper judging. Having heats / divisions allow everyone to get a fair go. There is heaps of room for free riding at the event so you can ride between your heats.

MUST

READ

Hi guys,
in regards to nominations, please either fax or email your nomination form to us and we will email you an invoice with account details on the bottom of the form. It is important when transfering your nom money that you include the invoice number as a reference so that we know who has paid. You can pay on the day but the accounts staff would prefer before hand.

IF YOU NEED A NOMINATION FORM PLEASE EMAIL [email protected] as soon as possible. We will also send you an accomodation recommendation list as well.

Any probs let me know

A bunch of New Zealand talent are booked to come over for the event as well.

Joe

Hey!
What's the wind conditions like? Is it like 18 knots on average or more like 25 knots? Just wondering what size kite I'd most need...

Hi Guys, this is what is planned but could change.

Friday - Dash for cash downwinder
Sat - Freestyle heats in the morning, Boarder x heats in the arvo
Sun - Freestyle final in morn and Bx final arvo.

Wake winch slider park will be open all day Sat and Sun. Looks like the Red Bull promo girls will be their to walk the rope back.

Have a couple celebrities comming but will have to come to see who.....

Saturday night we have a massive night planned at the Platinum Lounge. Sunday main presentations are at the Mackay Surfclub and will be featuring some great bands and a buffet dinner.

This is a basic run down but more to come.

Thanks to THRIFTY car rentals we have a couple of 12 seater buses available to transport competitors to and from their accomodation each day. If you are flying in there is possibly no need for a hire car. Up to you.

Any probs just email me [email protected] or call on (07)49533103. Please pass the word around at your local beaches. Let everyone know.

Thanks
Joe
