Can be done with boat support. Westerly would be a bit gusty. Only real problem is overhead powerlines running out over Yugo's place to Bundeena. In a SE the wind gets a venturi going through the passage and increases 5 knots. If tide is running out there are some awesome possibilities. Im keen

Had a look on google earth looks like anything from a SW -W - NW would work on the inside as you say. I live in Lilli Pilli and i'll take a walk around to see if there are power lines this weekend. Mostly you could kite over the sand bar as quite a lot of it would be underwater, I'm guessing but only a few feet deep. I know at low tide its well exposed. You'd have to launch from the National Park side I think as I can't thing of any well exposed launch sites on the north side. This means a bit of a drive and park fee's but it could be an undiscovered heaven.
