Spose the cop's aren't particularly interested in tracking down the car.....feel for ya brusex, same thing happened to me years ago in Balina....sis bailed me out took years to break even.Ballina Police at the time actualy told me to stop asking every day if they had located my car and possessions even though the theft was reported within an hour of it's dissapearance....chin up, may good Karma fill your world and create havoc for the scozers that ripped you

Hey Bruce, I think you will find that if you have contents insurance on your household items that your gear will be covered. Check it out and if it's not then change insurers as most of them offer it now. I'm with Allianz and they cover gear anywhere in Australia away from home if it is stolen or damaged. Just need to make a report to the police and then make a claim. CGU also offer the same on their contents insurance I believe. Your car insurance will only cover you for a limited as specified in the policy wording of your PDS. Normally the amount is $500. You will need receipts or a photo of your gear or will need to get a replacement reciept from where you bought it from if you don't have one. If you have any questi0ons about it, send me a PM as I work in the insurance game!!!

thats credit card fraud too... the police have ways of tracking the person now as they have a tmie and a place that it was used so they can then get a picture/profile of the suspect. Weather they get off there ass and do something instead of busting people for doing 65 in a 60 zone is the real question.

The same thing happened to me years ago, only i was out surfing on the gold coast , there were units behind the car park where i parked my car, buggers saw me hide my key (wich i don,t do anymore). Anyway to cut a long storey short i found my car myself. Drove the side streets, found it in a supermarket carpark keys on the floor. All they took was my camera and wallet.

yehaaaa ....well after some good tips from this post I have been driving the streets of maroochydore the last 2 mornings......this afternoon my parents in law decided to go for a drive and see if they could find it......
got a phone call from them at 6.45 pm
they were parked beside it in a carpark behind a restaurant about 400 metres from where it was stolen from.....
now for the good news my new surfboard, new 7 m rev, new mobile phone, new hat, wifes boogy board wetsuit were all still there.
everything but my wallet -
so they had taken the car driven to sunshine plaza - 1.5 km gone shopping then driven back to the beach parked the car and locked it thank god....
so i am avery lucky boy.......
obviously i have been a good tipper and karma has come back to me....
still lost about 500 cash and my wallet and need new keys but i have my baord and my small rev cause i need it as its cranking here for the next week...

so the moral of the story - go to lots of strip clubs and tip really well....oh and take your keys with you when you kite and stay away from maroochydore where these scum hang out. - the police are going to to track em by the credit card purchases at the shopping centre.

thanks to all of you who sent the karma my way.
smiling now - Bruce

Heya brucex

Glad to hear its all come good......

i once had my car stolen twice in two weeks.... can you farken beleave that???

that was in stinken Sydney tho.... boooo

but the cops told me that aprox 80 percent of stolen cars are recovered, cause the lowlife scumbags only want easy money... cars are way to hard to get rid of...

just hope ur car wasnt thrashed like mine was, 7k later and a new motor all was good.... n then i sold it for a loss, as i couldnt drive it knowing some fark bag had tanted my baby...... booo for theifs.

moral to the story is stay vigilant about car security when ur kiting, and keep the comprehensive insurance up, especialy if ur in a dodgy area.

I,m a regular visitor to the sunny coast as a kiter, lets just hope its a holiday season thing,

fingers crossed, and my 357 magnum cocked, he he he

Hi Bruce,

That is great news but if your house keys were in it at all you need to get house locks changed. i think the insurance will pay for that. Maybe Jordy could clarify for us. You don't want to wake up one night to find the scum in your house.

Happend to me at narrowneck aswell, stashed the key under the sound deadening on the firewall in my mini, went out surfing, seen a guy with my hood popped, ran up the beach yelled at the guy n he bolted, had my whole carby off trying to find where i put the key, lucky the dumb f**k left the shifter he was using when he bolted.
He must have been good with minis or something cos he was only under there for no longer than 2 minutes.

Good news u got your car back, karma will get the scum, the body shop lies when they say there products arent tested on animals, as this proves animals clearly shop there on other peoples credit cards!!

Bruce, I would pick option A. My reasons being: $46 at Lowes (needed a new shirt or shorts) $28 at Coles (2 packets of cigarettes) $79 at Body Shop (cheap arsed twat forget to buy his mum a Christmas Present)

update -

The cops got the video tape from Coles - where he used my credit card-
He was an elderly gent in late 50's -
That explained why he did need my new 7 m REV, New sunnies and New phone or surfboard.

I alos got a call from AAMI - they did a media campaign to warn people about this as their has been a spate of cars being taken at the beaches here and gold coast,
targetting expensive cars, bmw lexus etc.

Be warned take you key in the water with you!!!!

GOLD!

P.S. I'd change the locks at your house if he got your house keys too. Good to see it worked out (hope you are tipping your inlaws too!)
