Body boarding is for people who are too lame, unco and lazy to stand up. Surfing is the ultimate, equalled and possibly surpassed only by kitesurfing. Anyone disagree?
i disagree, for a start a bodyboarder can easily experience different waves and places on a wave a surfer cannot, eg a bodyboarder can get that little bit deeper and higher in the barrell than a surfer. How many surfers do you see riding Waimea shore break, compared to bodyboarders, and vice versa with the giant waves out the back? One sport suits a certain environment really well and the other sport is better suited elswhere.
Bodyboarding and surfing are about as similar as kiting and windsurfing. We all know there are a lot of diferences, so they cannot really be compared to eachother. To say someone is lame or whatever because they get more enjoyment from doing a different sport doesn't really make sense to me.
Its kinda like if you want to say "someones lame because they kite around in surf riding waves hooked in on a TT and not unhooked on a strapless surfboard" If thats what makes a person happy, then who are you to judge them?

Love it. I was right into it through my late teens and early 20s. Heaps of fun and as PsYLoR points out, you sure can get into barrels and warped waves that are just no good on a stand up.
Bit dissapointed there were no derogatory nick names, there's plenty. Speed Bump, Tampax, Esky Lid, Gut Slider, Cripple, Tea Bag...
Bodyboarders have no balls, oh yeah thats right! cause the last time i surfed THE BOX they were all shoulder hopping nancy boys praying for a small fat one! as for the surfers trying to surf CYCLOPS ,a bit of advice! get real and stick to trigg point..........KOOOKS
I prefer the paddle ski (Very long-arse GOAT BOAT) Sitting wide on a 4-6ft day at the alley, and not even worrying about looking on the inside on the takeoff.[}:)] Ummm how many heads can i roll letting it go over the falls. Sure get a boogy board play around for a couple of months or how long it takes to learn to ride along the face of the wave. Paddle out and sit outside people that have taken years to reach a solid surfing level. Sit around and bitch about how boogy boarding is harder and more full on, then drop in just enough to make the tbe crumble on some guy and have a good laugh.
Thing is no respect cause no skill required.

sorry guys does not matter how big and mean your tats are or how big you get in the gym it does not change the truth. Yea i have seen lids take hell drops but anyone can do it if ya do not have to stand. It is wierd it is only the new generation of boogers with this confusion, the older ones did not bother with it, just kept there mouths shut and got great tubes.
