Re Mauritius,
Andy and I, from sos, where there last May. The Indian Resort is right on the spot, the best wave is One Eye, but Manua is also great.
We where there for the RRD meeting so go to their or our web sit for video of the beach, flat water bay, and hotel. July should be great!
Call us at the shop if you want more info.
Enjoy,
John Geyer

I'm also looking at mauritius, the best time to go is june/july - but of course thats when it gets really busy. I get most of my info from kiteforum and people have said it gets _really_ busy on the water at la morne and surrounding areas - such as regularly having 150< poleys and kiters out on the water. I found a lot of comments about it being busy and having trouble with the locals not happy with touro's in the weekends, so I was looking at perhaps the less busy but equally good north-east side.

some have admitted that one-eye and la morne/la prairie have suffered from over-marketing so places like belle mare and trou d'eau douce sound pretty good.

have a look at some of these sites, hope they help:
kiteforum.com/
www.mauritiusurf.com/
www.kitebeaches.com/kitebeaches/country.php?country=Mauritius
www.kite2fly.com/
www.windguru.cz/int/historie.php?model=gfs - go through the daily wind archives for mauritius and you get an idea of the what goes on wind wise
www.myskyriders.com/en/destinations/home/9/genInfo - skyriders operate on the point at La Morne - they are also known as ClubMistral for the windsurfers so they stock all North gear, however there is a shop there that also stocks slingshot.
