Westerlies are horrendously cold, whatever the temperature is, needs to be reduced by about 5 degrees. Spent many years kiting winter westerlies in the bay and it sucks.

As sick as it sounds, winterly are my most favoured time of year...
You get to sneak a kite in at mid day, and its only going to be quick cause its always nuking and cold!
My 7m has been out more times this week then it did all summer!

+1 I love the winter sessions. You really feel like you earned the stoke. I wish I could go the lunch session but I have to wait till the weekend in winter. if only we had daylight saving in winter.

You need a modern wetsuit. I upgraded from my 12 year old wetsuit to a bottom of the line rip curl, I would be warm in Tasmania, I can only imagine how good the expensive ones are!
