Hey,

Dec 17th Melbourne - Adelaide along the coast over 6 days ideally kitesurfing as much as possible!

Will there be any wind? If so kite sizes?
Spots not to miss? coastal and inland water?
Any dangers? ie sharks???
Places to stop over for a good beer and food?
Any other advise?

Appreciate your help and maybe hook along the way!

there are plenty of great spots along the south west coast of vic. torquay, angelsea, apollo bay, warnambool are all worth a look. and just over the border robe is an awesome area to ride. bring a good wettie, it can be cold even in summer.
whatever you do, don't drink the beer in south australia (exception is coopers).

Hi Kristian,

What is your skill level? Are u after waves or flat water or both?

I havent kite 2 much of the Great Ocean Road but Torquay is a great spot as stamp said and Robe is one of my all time favourite spots if ur a wave rider. Its such a cool little coastal town! Inland between Robe and Beachport is a big lake (unsure of its name) which is a great place for flat water sessions but its a bit more of a mission getting there.

Bring a wettie as it always cold down that neck of the woods but around that time of year we are usually kiting in boardies and rashies in Adelaide.

On arrival in Adelaide if your after waves head down to Victor Harbour or if u just want some local kiting Henley down to North Haven are the best places to go.

Bring both big and small kites as u never know what your going to get, but that time of year usually bring consistant sea breezes so u should b right.

Have a great trip.

Peterbourgh has a great little pub which does fantastic food.
Never KS down there. There is a nice beach which is a bit protected.
When in SA dont buy west end draught. That siht is pumped from the sewer!
Enjoy

Thanks for your help so far! Looks like I need to stay away from some of the beers! and a bit surprised about the wetsuit!

Rooboy/Stamp - I will def head to Robe for the waves!

Suniboy21 - I will pop into Peterbourgh for the pub food!

Cheers.

If you're looking for flat water - Queenscliff in Victoria has a lovely enclosed bay. I've only been there once or twice but is a really nice place to ride. Look out for the rocks at low tide though.

As for good spots in and around Adelaide for flat water. Milang on lake Alexandrina is a great spot on N, NE, SE, S. Parham is about an hour north of Adelaide up the gulf and is one of the best flat water locations. It's a bit of a walk out if you get the tide wrong but just on the turn of the low tide is best as it can be a tad choppy at high tide. It works on N, NW, W, SW, S. Check out :

What are you guys talking about. I'm from SA. West End is up there with Coopers. Like the add says "every time you have West End, a Victorian cops it".
