Simple:

1. When walking try NOT to fly the kite over the road.

2. Help landing and launching others

3. Turn OUTSIDE the white makers (which are 50m from shore)

I hate posting this sort of "rules" stuff, but Melville can be tricky and dangerous. The local "guidlines/rules" whatever, are there for 2 main reasons: your own safety and to keep our spot happening for us and future kiters.

And finally, today a learner dropped a kite on my head..........I was really pissed off about this....of course he was wearing a helmet. The situation could have been dangerous if Mr. Learner had been gusted because I was between the kite and our helmeted friend, in the lines.

Melville is funky and the wind can drop to 5 knots and shoot back up to 20 knots in a flash.........its called a gust and can be lethal.

My rant for today, enough said.

Agreed and well posted. These are simple rules and when they are followed it makes for a safe and enjoyable environment. If the locals and the kiters observe this type of environment we will be sure to kite there for many years to come. Please play the game guys, I love my local kite spot and don't want to be banned from this special spot and the people that kite there. There is plenty of space, spread out and follow the rules.
