Does anyone have any comments on kite surfing at the Mordy beach (going towards parkdale) I've never seen anybody there but it seems to look like a great spot. Good parking, bit set-up area, showers. I'm only a gumby but is there a reason it's not used????????

I've used it as a learners beach - as I've gone late arvo/evening and there's no-one around... meaning that there's no-one i'm in danger of hitting/crashing into/getting in the way of/etc..
Flipside is that there's no-one there to critique my technique, but i guess that what lessons are for... (almost finished them)

Nothing wrong with this beach just a bit deep so there is heavy chop outside, which is good if you like it. Good spot to learn just go downwind of the swimmers, theres some freaks I nearly ran over this guy about 500 meters out. I stalled up and asked him if he was okay he said that he was swimming from Mordy pier to Ricketts Point, nutter.

I spearfish around there, it's mostly reef/rubble and gets pretty shallow in places (especially low tide) so I wouldn't recommend it for kiting. You should try the other side of the creek or further down at Mentone if the wind gets some East in it.
