It feels so long ago trying to think back to 2005's season. I wish I kept a log of dates and days of which way the wind has been going etc. Does anyone remember when the kite season starts again in the Moreton Bay Redcliffe/Caloundara/Wello/Brighton regions?

Is is Early September or the End of September or later? And from memory...Dont we start getting those Northerlies? North Westerlies for a little before the North Easterlies come? Can anyone summarise it for me Im finding BOM completley useless to collect info.

Start? It hasn't stopped this year really! I've been kiting at least once a more a week for as far back as I can remember.
Good seabreezes should kick in late septemberish.

Kurt I kinda disagree with your call here... for a weekend warrior like myself there's been slim pickings for the last few months. 2 sessions in the last 2 weeks have eased the pain a bit, but before that I only managed a couple of sessions in the last 3 months! Seems like there's been a lot more weekday wind though if you can catch it.

qf try this:
www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/wind/selection_map.shtml
it's a handy little thing from BOM that predicts wind per month based on historical data. Just make sure you pick 3pm not 9am!

So after Sept 1st is it? If i can remember back rightly there is some North Westerlies during this month. I still remember going to last years Coolum Kitefest in the first week of October when there were freezing South Westerlies.
