Hey Kiters,
I've just written my first couple of articles. As you may know, I run a kite service in Perth, dedicated to helping kiters spend as much time as possible on the water, while having as much fun as possible and helping kiters meet each other and grow their network.
I've written these articles cause I've got loads of down time as the wind is off in Perth and the swell is inconsistent.... Also, I'd be stoked to share some knowledge that'll hopefully help kiters out.
My first article is a few tips so that "you can kitesurf more than the pros". If you take a look, I'm sure you'll work out rather quickly who my favorite pro is at the moment
upwinder.weebly.com/kitesurf-more.htmlI work at a kite shop too and I help a lot of people find their next kite. I've just put together an article on that too. In that article there is a link to a table that details all the major brands different models under categories. For example, the 'Surf' kites are; Airush Wave, Best Cabo, Cabrinha Drifter, Naish Pivot, North Neo, Ozone Reo, RRD Religion and Slingshot Wave. I'm sure all you surfers knew that already, but anyone looking to get into wave riding might find that useful!
upwinder.weebly.com/your-next-kite.htmlI know there are loads of you on this forum that have a LOT of knowledge. If you've got some feedback, flick me an email, FB message or drop a line here. I'd be stoked to make improvements, I'll even reference you if you like! I'm going to be sending out a tutorial video on how I self launch soon too. Sign up to my newsletter if you'd like it. Here's a sneak peak: Step 1 - Ask someone else to launch you!
Hope you're all getting out. We had an awesome burst of cold wind last weekend for all of Saturday which was a great fix.
Jo, The Upwinder
ps - to my favorite pro - I hope you don't mind what I did. Drop me a line, I've got a question I'm dying to ask.
pps - happy for negative comments and red thumbs, it doesn't bother me much.
