If you were in the market for a shiny new car, and a NSW dealer offered you the same car you saw in WA for $5k less with free delivery to your door, what would you do? DOn't say you;d still buy local, coz you wouldn't.

I'm purposely holding off buying new gear until I'm anywhere but Aus...

Cool, No probs...

Just don't be trying to claim a warranty by taking it to your local shop if you bought elsewhere... (eg overseas)

Why not ??? North dealers are always helpful, that's why North maintain their markets share, good product and good customer service !

If North are such great manufacturers, why not offer a global warranty ?

What really goes wrong with a kite anyway, unless you have a lemon other than line and bladders issues, which anybody with a half a brain can fix themselves - it s a free market out there, isn't it?

Why red flag it. The truth often offends[}:)]

Why should a shop help him if it's a lemon or a simple valve issue for a warrenty claim.
O'seas purchase save great $$$ but RPM's point is valid. Just abit upfront.

Go and buy a shirt from target and ask for a replacment from kmart and find out your answer.

And DutchRooster you must have pure iron in your blood to wait 7 weeks. Sounds like
fun times are heading your way..

WTF?

I'm happy to have my kites and boards (along with all my other belongings) at long last and suddenly its all about warranty, buy local etc.? Pretty pathetic. A simple: "nice one" or "have fun" would suffice. Or a can of farts. :)

Now, wind gods: pull your finger out!!!

And that'll about do...

From the forum policy:

www.seabreeze.com.au/Members/Help/ForumRules.aspx#h40b

Overseas Purchasing / Why are we so ripped off / Buying Deals

In this case the poster has discovered he was able to buy an item overseas and now they want to share this with everybody.

Posts of this nature will be locked/or removed as they always stir up bad vibes and arguments. Like clockwork, pro-shop crew come out versus the anti-shop crew, and it's on, and has never ended well. Ends up being just a bunch of angry people arguing over a $100 difference. It's not been worth it, and everybody goes home unhappy, so we nip it in the bud before it starts.
